Reading List

It is always impossible to complete a reading list, because I always add another three books to each one I read, but here is the summer reading list I’m attempting this summer. Please feel free to add suggestions!

I will review every book on here which I read, and hope to do at least 2 a week (hopefully), so this is a like a sneak preview of what’s to come. It might not be in order though!

nice blog you have.. i also like The Notebook 🙂 by the way, I would recommend The History of Love by Nicole Krauss if you haven’t read it. Enjoy!

Hi, I found your blog when searching for an image for A Room With A View (Penguin Classics) as I was lazy to scan it myself. I love to read myself and have been trying to put in words my thoughts about them, but I guess I just haven’t gotten in the groove of things yet. My pile of read and un-‘reviewed’ books is higher than unread books =)

Would love find out which of the Austen books you liked best. I read Northanger Abbey and really enjoyed it but have struggled to get through Emma.

Keep up the good work!

Hi Serena,
Thanks for visiting!
I understand the problem with getting round to reviewing books…with everything else that goes on in life it’s hard enough to find the time to read them in the first place, let alone sit down and think how to convey your thoughts on them in a structured way….I’m still learning!

My favourite Austen is definitely Pride and Prejudice, because, despite being the most famous and therefore overused in everything, the plot is simply a classic, with an originality and connection beyond the capability of the vast majority of literature.
However, I haven’t read all of her works yet, but will undoubtedly review them when I get round to it!

Thanks again for taking the time to comment!

Hi KJ,
I LOVE your blog!! I guess you could say that I am a ravid reader and I just gobble books down by the bookshelf and I completely fell in love with your blog!! (A good example of how I view books can be found within the wonderous words of “Inkheart” by Cornelius Funke…check it out, you would like it). I agree wholeheartedly with you about Jane Austen’s books, they are BEAUTIFULLY written! (if I had a button to type in cursive I would have used it on that word…)

Anyhoo, I just wanted to give you a couple of book recommendations for you to read (I know you may not have time to read them all right now, but just for future reference if you know what I mean :D). Some great ones are: Ella Enchanted (This is a CLASSIC!!), ALL of Shannon Hale’s stuff (Goose Girl, Enna Burning, River Secrets, Forest Born, Princess Academy, Book of a Thousand Days, etc…), To Catch a Pirate (Sorry, idk who wrote it…), Maze Runner by James Dashner, Among the Hidden by Margaret Peterson Haddix, Reckless by Cornelia Funke, Matched by Ali Condi, Hunger Games (if you haven’t already)…i could go on and on, but I have to stop now. I know I said a COUPLE of book recomendations, but i got slightly carried away…again….

Thanks for having such an awesome blog!! I LOVE IT!!! (I would have written that in cursive too…) Keep it up 🙂

Hey Jessica,
Thank you! That’s very kind, and I’m glad you’ve enjoyed my blog so much!
I can relate to the obsession with reading, and to the attitude towards reading that Cornelia Funke gives – I’ve definitely read that more than once!
I will look into all those books you’ve recommended, thanks for the suggestions! I’ve been a tad busy recently which is why there hasn’t been any reviews for ages, but I’ve finally got a summer to catch up on everything, so I’ll definitely try out what you’ve recommended!
Hope you enjoy the reviews!
Happy reading,
KJ
